A Guide for Making It Through the Holidays as a Loss Mom
The holidays can feel like a spotlight on everything that’s missing. When you’re grieving your baby, the world’s push toward joy and celebration can feel painfully out of sync with the reality of your heart.
We lost our daughter on November 29, 2022 — right in the middle of the Christmas season. Her funeral was on December 14, and that year, everything felt impossible. But we also had a six-year-old who still needed some Christmas magic. It felt so hard to honour our grief while also trying to create something gentle and bright for him.
Three years in, one thing I know for sure: there is no right way to make it through.
